Westonbirt, The National Arboretum

About us

Located in the Cotswolds, this is a stunning and remarkable place for people to see, explore and enjoy a landscape world-renowned for its trees.
With 15,000 trees, including five national tree collections and seasonal activities for everyone to enjoy, Westonbirt offers a new experience with every visit. There’s always something new to discover.
Originally planted by the Holford family during the heyday of Victorian plant hunting, today Westonbirt Arboretum’s 600 acres contains one of the finest tree collections in world.
The landscape was laid out aesthetically rather than in a botanical order, meaning this setting is truly one of the most beautiful tree gardens to be found anywhere in the world.
Visitors can take a journey up into the canopy on the STIHL Tree Top Walkway, go Gruffalo spotting in the woodland, take the dogs for a walk in Silk Wood or take a guided walk to explore hidden secrets, whilst enjoying vibrant colours all year round. There is also a restaurant and café to enjoy a tasty treat and the Westonbirt Shop, ideal for gifts.
